I've had the privilege of working around the world and capturing amazing photos of people and landmarks. I come from humble beginnings, so I consider myself blessed to have been able to film on four continents. As I traveled the world, I would look for the best shots and stay in one spot, waiting for the right lighting from a setting or rising sun, such as at the Great Wall Of China, despite there being no lighting on the wall after dark. I was afraid I might get stuck on the mountain, but I waited nonetheless.
I took this photo of the Great Wall of China after waiting for the sun to set to just the right point so I could get an epic photo. I didn't know if I'd ever be back, so I had to capture the perfect pic. The pandemic started a few days after I took this photo and as I continued to travel around the world in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa for 40 days. My friends joked that I was "patient X." I had an antibody test done. I wasn't.
In portrait photography, it's all about you and creating epic moments in time that you can show to your friends and family and cherish for the rest of your life. Outside of the normal "pose" photography, I work to capture people doing the most candid things, such as in the shot above. They almost fell into the Sacramento River, but they had an awesome time doing it, and it was caught on film at just the right moment. I'll do that for you, so you will have timeless memories of friends and loved ones.
